What is a CMPS?

CMPS is a training, examination, certification and ongoing membership program for financial professionals who provide mortgage and real estate equity advice. A mortgage professional with CMPS credentials has met rigorous, peer-developed and reviewed standards endorsed by a national professional body. What is a CRMS?

The National Association of Mortgage Brokers (NAMB) has established the Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist (CRMS) program, through which the individual mortgage professional can be recognized as a leader within the increasingly competitive field of mortgage origination and finance.

To Become a Certified Residential Mortgage Specialist, the applicant must meet the following requirements: a) Have at least two (2) years of work experience in the mortgage industry. b) Document at least 50 qualifying points through work experience, formal academic education, other professional designations, mortgage-related educational activities, and leadership and participation in the industry. c) Take and pass the written CRMS examination within one (1) year after being deemed eligible.
